A robot designed to protect the power grid and other critical systems

Celine Irvene
The power grid, water treatment systems and other critical systems are now connected to the internet which makes them vulnerable to cyber attacks that can cause physical damage and threaten human lives. Cybersecurity researcher Celine Irvene introduces the Honeybot, an early prototype of a new class of robotics security designed to protect factory and plant systems from cyber attacks. Celine’s work on robotics security has been featured in numerous media outlets including Digital Trends, Engadget, Engineering.com and Futurity. She works with Raheem Beyah, the associate chair for strategic initiatives and innovation at Georgia Tech’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering where she is a doctoral candidate.
