Genna Duberstein

Can the sun rekindle our sense of wonder?

Genna Duberstein works at the intersection of art and science. As the lead multimedia producer for heliophysics at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, she works alongside scientists to bring to life data from the Sun. It takes approximately 10 hours of work to make one minute of ultra-HD footage of the Sun.

This award-winning work has been aired on PBS, and featured on Vanity Fair, Wired magazine, The Atlantic and National Geographic.

Genna's firm belief that "both art and science are forms of exploration" has inspired her brainchild "Solarium," an innovative piece of video art that is the visualization of a vast reservoir of data collected by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory transformed into a viewing experience is calming, joyful, soothing.
