Trish P. Miller has over 18 years of experience working as a corporate and public health professional who is passionate about the health and well-being of children. Originally from Virginia, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of Virginia, a Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Public Health from Emory University.
Her own near drowning experience as an adult fueled her passion to overcome cultural social norms and to ensure that she and other members of her community knew how to swim. This led to the creation of SwemKids, a culturally relevant swim and water safety program focused on equipping black families with the skills to have a healthy and safe relationship in and around water. Within its first year, SwemKids plans to teach over 500 black children in the Atlanta Public School System how to swim and be safe in and around water. Trish lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her 12 year old daughter and 11 year old son.
