Venezuelan born (and “El Sistema” graduate) Alcides Rodriguez is a bass clarinetist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
He has an avid interest in Venezuelan folk music and instruments, and has performed the Concerto for Maracas and Orchestra by Ricardo Lorenz with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and with the Orquestra Filarmônica de Minas Gerais in Brazil. He received his master’s degree in music performance from Northwestern University and his bachelor’s degree in music performance from Baylor University.
